31P NMR of lake sediments

Organic phosphorous compounds are an important component in various sediments in lakes. Their analysis, however, is cumbersome and the exact nature of the compounds difficult to analyse. We want to use multidimensional NMR-spectroscopy to obtain information on the nature and composition of those compounds. The project is part of a collaboration with Dr. M. Hupfer (IGB Berlin) in the investigation of the diagenesis of organic phosporous compounds.
